Of the three special Bowie releases for this year's RSD, this reproduction of one of his earliest promos is exciting us most. The B-side is a song called Girl Left Alone, written by Parton, her Aunt Dorothy Jo Owens, and her Uncle Bill Owens. Originally put out in 1959 by Gold Band Recordings, the new release will be available in packaging that is "as true to the original as we could make it". One of Dolly's earliest recordings is being given a limited edition release on 7".

The idea was conceived nine years ago in the America with the aim of bringing together hundreds of independent record shops to celebrate their unique culture. More than 25,000 music fans are expected to descend on music shops for this year's Record Store Day.
The event is partnering with BBC Music for the second time this year and to mark its tenth birthday, organisers have enlisted for the first time five official UK champions: Slaves, Anton Newcombe (Brian Jonestown Massacre), Kate Tempest, Kate Nash and Izzy Bizu.

The full list of releases, which you can salivate over below, will be making their way exclusively into independent record shops across the UK on Saturday, April 22. For just one day next month, over 550 limited edition music releases will hit the shelves of independent music shops in support of Record Store Day.
